Every day, our Human Resources Assistants provide clerical, technical, and administrative support, and apply an extensive body of human resources rules and procedures concerning labor and employee relations policies and procedures.
This position of Human Resources Assistant (Labor and Employee Relations) starts at a salary of $44,941 GS-07, Step 01 grade level, with promotion potential to$58,428 GS-07, Step 10 grade level.

Duties
As a Human Resources Assistant (Labor and Employee Relations), you will:
- Provide support for a variety of labor and employee relations programs, such as disciplinary action, grievances, performance management and workplace violence prevention.
- Perform program specific assignments or assist LER Specialists in performing structured segments of their work, to include responding to information requests, discovery obligations and data calls; monitoring official time use and accountability; conducting simple research and query a variety of databases to collect, extract and assemble relevant supporting documentation; and reviewing and summarizing records and other materials in preparation for further analysis and processing; and facilitating the completion of compliance obligations.
- Perform a variety of administrative and clerical support duties for the USCIS Labor and Employee Relations Division, Serve as primary administrative assistant for the USCIS Labor and Employee Relations Headquarters Operations office. Provide a variety of office support functions, to include copying, faxing, scanning and assembling work-products; procuring routine equipment, supplies, resources and services; receiving calls and/or visitors and managing office correspondence; and support employee interests, to include processing Time and Attendance, helping with property accountability and maintenance; assisting with Travel arrangements and/or Training interests, facilitating on-boarding and/or exit clearance protocols.
- Create, manage and maintain office files and records; update data systems; manage record-keeping responsibilities; and prepare recurring and/or ad hoc reports through the use of various automated systems and technologies.
- Provide customer service and respond to general inquiries concerning LER services and procedures.
