Duties

This position is located at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY. The Human Resources Assistant (Office Automation) - Employee/Labor Relations is responsible for providing administrative support to both the Employee & Labor Relations and the Processing & Records Section of the Human Resources Management Service (HRMS).

The major duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Supports investigation procedures by redacting documents, assembling and indexing disciplinary actions and preparing evidence files;
  • Obtains electronic official personnel (E-OPF) documents, retrieves Network and Medical Center policies, contacts managers for additional evidence and arranges the evidence file in chronological order;
  • Copies and redacts evidence files ensuring compliance with release of information, accuracy and completeness;
  • Prepares correspondence for use in MSPB, EEO and DAB cases, responding to information requests and arranging appropriate accommodations for formal functions;
  • Coordinates the utilization of court reporters as necessary;
  • Processes requests for information from the Department of Labor for unemployment benefits;
  • Purges all files in accordance with appropriate regulations;
  • Assists in the preparation, pickup, delivery and distribution of the mail for the department;
  • Codes related ER/LR actions into the PAID system and ensures the appropriate follow up associated with those actions are processed timely;
  • Assists in projects including surveys, audits, position description review, the Drug Free Workplace Program, Transit Program, etc.; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
