This position is temporary and has a Not-to-Exceed date. However, an extension of the appointment may be possible without further competition. The appointment may also end early due to lack of work or funds.
This position is on a Forest Service unit where the incumbent serves as administrative support to one or more Grants Management Specialists.
This position is located in Region 3 on the Coronado National Forest in Tucson, AZ.

Positions will be filled as a temporary appointment up to 6 months.
The USDA Forest Service has legislative authority to recruit and fill Permanent (Career/Career-Conditional), Temporary, and Term Appointments under the USDA Demonstration Project. Under this authority, any U.S. citizen may apply.
Duties
Performs standardized duties supporting the award of grants and agreements, including clerical assistance in the area of grants management support functions, to include reports, payments, closeouts and all other required documentation.
Inputs limited data into the grants and agreements information system. Maintains information for logs and distributes grant/agreement applications/proposals.
Prepares the grant/agreement file, developing the folder and filing all pertinent information for the respective file from initial receipt to closeout. Manages records in accordance with federal record retention requirements.
Reviews grant/agreement proposals/applications to verify basic compliance with program guidelines.
Prepares closeout documentation for grants and agreements files upon completion of work. Reviews files for completeness, and identifies areas for follow-up needed to complete and prepare file for closeout.
Follows established instructions and guidance on administrative and clerical activities related to the grants and agreements process.
Applies knowledge of several types of software, such as spreadsheets, templates, databases, word processing documents, publishing, and graphics applications, to generate specific working documents and forms.
