About the Agency

These positions is located at Fort Hood Youth Services

This announcement's first cut-offs will be 07/30/2017. All eligible applicants from that first cut-off will be referred to the hiring manager on the Monday after the cut-off date and then after each referral comes back from management until all vacancies are filled.

Duties

1. Serves as a CYPA in one or more CY programs. Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years.
2. Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques.
3. Supervises children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings, and special events.
4. Observes program participants for signs that may indicate illness, abuse, or neglect and reports as directed.
5. Completes training requirements using approved OSD and Service materials to include designated training modules.

Key Requirements

Qualifications

1. Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate or college transcript
2. Three to six months of experience working in a group program with children or youth
3. Be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Conditions of Employment:

2. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
3. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15m, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.
4. Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
