About the Position:
This position is being filled at the GS-09 grade level with promotion potential to the GS-11 grade level after one year. The pay on this announcement reflects the range for a GS-09 grade level.
The position is with the inpatient medical social work team, Dept of Social Work, Directorate of Behavioral Health.

Duties
The working environment is the inpatient medical setting (hospital) to meet and assess patients at bedside. The worker should expect to be in and out of the designated workspace to see patients and meet medical teams on the floors/wards throughout the work day.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is defined as: adapting to evolving communication technologies; geriatric population issues. Coordination and implementation of discharge plans by arranging transition to next level of medical care. Planning, coordinating, and providing comprehensive referral services to patients and families. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, GS-07.

you may qualify for this position with a master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
