About the Position:Perform quality review of the centralized processing of child services background checks for civilian employees, military members of the active and reserve components, contractors (regular and recurring), volunteers, Family Child Care Providers/Homes Off Post Providers, and any other individuals expected to have regular contact with children under the age of 18 in the performance of their duties.

Duties
Review contractor processing of initial child services background investigatons.
As a trained suitability adjudicator, makes final decision as to whether derogatory information is considered mandatory disqualifying or minor, and prepares associated documentation.
Ensure that Installation Records Checks (IRC) are initiated and that IRC, local law enforcement check, and FBI fingerprint check results are collected and processed within established timelines.
Verify there has been an accurate review and assessment of derogatory information.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
To qualify for the GS-06 level, experience is defined as: Initiate, coordinate, and track initial and periodic re-verification background checks, including Installation Record Checks and Child National Agency Check. Contact requestors to initiate background checks and provide instructions. Notify selecting official when derogatory information is reported.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
To qualify for the GS-07 level, experience is defined as: Follow policies and procedures for processing child services background investigations; Ensure all personnel security forms are collected and processed within timelines; Review background packets and documentation prior to submission to ensure they contain accurate, complete information; Review derogatory information to determine child care personnel suitability.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is Required.

Salary includes applicable locality pay.

Must take Suitability Adjudicator Training within 60 days of assignment in the position.
