The DeCA operates a worldwide commissary system that provides quality grocery products at cost to active duty military personnel and retirees, members of the Reserve and National Guard, and their families. The agency employs about 18,000 people and its annual sales exceed $6 billion.
Employees Serviced by DLA: Civilian Federal employees who receive human resources servicing through the Defense Logistics Agency DO NOT need to submit supporting documentation if applying through merit promotion. It is your responsibility to ensure the required documents are in your eOPF for verification purposes. Duties
• Operate an electronic checkout system, makes change and verifies change fund and amount of currency received during an assigned shift.
• Manage change machines ensuring proper amounts of cash and coins are available.
• Assist customers by answering questions concerning prices, identification and location of items.
• Count cash and negotiable instruments and prepares an accountability report.
• Manage the self check-out registers assisting customers in the correct processing of their purchases.
• Change register tape and clears routine equipment and scanning jams on registers.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position applications must possess at least six months of general experience OR one full year of education beyond the high school level.
General experience is described as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work duties that indicate ability to perform the duties of a Sales Store Checker.
Appropriate education may be substituted for or combined with experience. This education must be from an accredited college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S.

Physical Requirements: Work requires standing for prolonged periods of time, lifting up to 25 pounds independently and occasionally over 25 pounds with assistance, twisting, bending, and manual dexterity. May be exposed to hot or cold environments which may include temperature changes because of opening and closing of outside doors.
