Salary is pro-rated on a 40 hour work week.

This position is located at Monterey Road Child Development Center, Ord Military Community, Seaside, CA. 93955. May be tasked with covering shortage at Porter Youth Center.

Duties

-Provides leaning experiences in language and literacy, mathematics, social studies, science and discover music and movement, technology, citizenship, physical education and creative expression.
-Provides supervision, oversight, and accountability for children in compliance with DoD Army and local policies, guidance, and standards.
-Maintains staff/child ration requirements.
-Evaluates academics and social growth of children and maintains appropriate records.
-Observes children for signs that may indicates illness, abuse, or neglect and reports as directed.
-Implements an active program of parental involvement and courage parent communication, observation and participation.
-Creates effective and inviting environment  for leaning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and learning stations.
-Hold parents conferences to discuss children's progress.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

-Meet Target-level requirements and satisfactory performance.
-Possess 18 months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.
-Possess and maintain a Child Development Associate (CDA) or Military School-Age Credential.
OR
Meet Entry-level requirements.
-Possess twelve (12) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.
-Possess AA degree with major emphasis in early childhood education or child development.
OR
Meet Entry-level requirements.
-Possess BA/BS degree with a major emphasis in early childhood education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Home Economics, Special Education or related behavioral sciences.
HIGHLY PREFERED:
Experience working as a Lead Child and Youth Program Assistant, Child and Youth Program Technician, or Child and Youth Program Assistant (Target Level-4).

High School diploma or Collage transcript must be uploaded.

Conditions of Employment:
1. A one-year probationary period may be required.
2. Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.
3. A completed and signed copy DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
4. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-VERIFY) check.
5. Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable background checks/investigation to determine suitability for this position.
6. Satisfactory completion of medical examination requirements.
7. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility as determined by medical authority.
