Duties
This full-time, permanent position is located at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas, in the Environmental Management Service Line (EMSL). The incumbent is responsible for supporting and enhancing both nursing and environmental services by utilizing staff as health aides to perform non-clinical functions which are often performed by Nursing and selected services provided by housekeeping. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Deep clean discharge rooms washing and making discharge beds
- Cleaning over-bed lamps, bedside tables, over-bed tables and bedroom chairs
- Transport dirty linen to soiled linen room
- Cleaning immediate area of dayroom after patients meals
- Transporting x-rays and specimen to lab
- Change bedside waste bags
- Taking reports to Nursing Service Office
- Assist in transporting patients thru out the facility
- Clean utility rooms, storage areas, and kitchenettes
Work Schedule: Days shift, tour to be determined (may include Weekends) Tours: 7a-3:30pm; 3:30pm-12mid;10:30pm-7am. No Alternate work schedule may be considered.
