About the Position:
This is an Administrative Support Assistant (OA), GS-0303-05 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, Operations Division, Millwood Tri Lakes Project Office, located in De Queen, AR.
NOTE: Position exclusively represented by IBEW Local 2219.

Duties
As an Administrative Support Assistant (OA), you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of duties which support the administrative functions of the office. Typical duties of the position may include, but are not limited to:
Receiving visitors/phone calls and personally providing information requested or directing them to staff members for those that require attention or action.
Maintaining project and contract files as necessary.
Maintaining plant equipment records and maintenance history on property items.
Typing a variety of correspondence, reports, etc. using automated equipment and a variety of software programs.
Sorting and distributing mail for necessary action.
Analyzing cost items (labor/training/travel/equipment/pay estimates for contractors/supplies/Visa purchases, etc.) to determine proper sequence required for that action.
Ensuring labor charges are appropriately assessed to projects currently being worked on.
Reviewing cost codes for each project for sufficient funds.
Performing timekeeping duties using an automated reporting system.
Preparing travel orders/vouchers for all supported employees.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: performing a variety of clerical assignments to support an organization, such as recordkeeping, maintaining inventory records, and replenishing supplies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION
Education may be substituted for the specialized experience requirement if you meet one of the following:
1) 4 years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. (NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted at time of application.)
OR
2)Combination of Education and Specialized Experience -- If you have some specialized experience, but less than one year; and have more than two years of education above the high school level, but less than four years; you may be eligible for this position based on a combination of education and specialized experience if the total is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond the second year by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted at time of application.)
