About the Agency

The selectee for this position will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT (OA) in the Public Works Office of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

• Maintain an electronic calendar to keep management informed of events and activities.
• Maintain records of financial transactions to assist in preparing reports, charts, graphs, or itemized statements of costs.
• Process transactions required for input into a data processing system.
  Operate a computer or word processor to create, edit, print, retrieve, or manipulate documents, charts, spreadsheets, and files.
• Develop reporting formats (e.g., pie charts, bar charts, and similar items) from data for presentations.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Qualified Typist: This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Minimum Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Receiving calls, greeting customers and responding to routine requests for information; 2) Utilizing computer software programs to prepare/format and proofread correspondence and reports; 3) Establishing and maintaining filing systems. OR have successfully completed four full years above high school at an accredited college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite; OR have a combination of experience and education as described above which, when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirement. The level of the course work must have been equivalent to at least the junior- and senior- year levels of a baccalaureate program.
