About the Agency

The selectee for this position will serve as a Transportation Assistant (Call Center) in the Navy Household Goods (HHG) Personal Property Shipping Office (PPSO) of Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), Global Logistics Support (GLS) Enterprise NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.

The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.

Duties

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

• You will act as a single point of contact for customers who use the phone and electric media to seek technical transportation support.
• You will provide entitlement counseling and quality control services along with shipment and storage management services to military and civilian service members.
• You will research, compile, and evaluate data to identify patterns, causal factors and failures to determines solutions.
• You will use various forms of communication to determine the next level of support for customers and service providers for further technical or locality based assistance.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. For the GS-05 your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Answered phone calls to provide requested travel information or direct the caller to another department. 2) Under close supervision resolved customer concerns, conflicts, or issues to meet client needs. 3) Under close supervision advised individuals of their entitlements or responsibilities for shipment, storage, processing claims, or quality control data; - OR - 4 years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university; - OR -A combination of specialized experience and education as described above.
