About the Agency

This position is part of the HRS LD Western Center/Custom Solutions, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of administrative tasks including finance, procurement, space, property, time and attendance, travel and relocation.

As a division of the Office of Personnel Management, HR Solutions provides exceptional human resources products and services to meet the dynamic needs of the Federal Government. This position is located at the Western Management Development Center.

This position is also being announcement under the Agency's Merit Promotion Plan to federal employees and non-competitive appointment eligible. If you wish to be considered under Merit Promotion or Non-Competitive procedures, you MUST apply under the Merit Promotion announcement 17-250-GLM-MP.

Duties

As a Staff Assistant at the GS-0303-6, some of your typical work assignments may include under supervision:
  • Set up classroom tables and chairs for classes.
  • Prepare and maintain customer lounge and refreshments.
  • Receive and direct all general front desk telephone calls and e-mails.
  • Serve as first customer contact for participants and walk-in visitors.
  • Prepare memos, letters, reports with proper punctuation and format.
  • Prepare staff travel orders, vouchers and make travel arrangements.
  • Maintain and track upcoming personnel action due dates for awards, promotions, and grade increases.
