This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Base Boston, Boston, MA.

Duties

This position provides technical support work for BSU Boston in connection with the operation of environmental protection programs.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

*Assisting with developing/updating environmental reports/plans.
*Assisting with environmental permit compliance (reports, data collection, inspections, etc.)
*Assisting with Environmental compliance Evaluation reports (researching regulations, applicability, etc.)
*Assisting with the tracking of hazardous materials and waste.
*Assisting with the implementing the Qualified Recycling program.
*Assisting with maintaining the environmental management system.

Qualifications

At the GS-04 level: Applicants must have one (1) year of general experience. General experience is experience that is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the position.

Or

Two (2) years of education above high school.

At the GS-5 level: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal government. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Some examples of specialized experience are working in an office type setting, using computers to prepare documents and reports, and maintaining records/files.

Or

Four (4) years of education above the high school level

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying.
This position does not have a positive education requirement. If you are including education on your resume, report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. See Required Documents section for detail.
