This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Coast Guard Academy, Facilities Engineering Branch, Public Works Section, New London, CT.

Duties

You would assist higher-graded employees in installing, modifying, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and loading new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.

Being a civilian working for the U.S. Coast Guard makes you a valuable member of the team. Typical duties include:

- Assisting in assembling and installing parts
- Getting tools and supplies
- Carrying materials
- lifting and holding materials in place during repair operations
- Cleaning tools, machines, and equipment
- Keeping the work area clean and orderly
