Summary
Become a part of the Army's Global Veterinary Medical Practice (GVMP) – A
challenging yet rewarding employment opportunity! The GVMP operates veterinary treatment facilities
(VTFs) on most military installations for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force. Your work will be
dedicated to pet health within the military community and in support of the United States Army
Medical Command. Animal Health is an integral part of the Army's public health mission and touches
the lives of Department of Defense (DoD) personnel, military members, and their families.
GVMP employees work closely with both Military Veterinary Medical Officers and civilian
Veterinarians to provide quality healthcare to privately owned animals and deliver the highest
level of customer service while adhering to federal and state guidelines and regulations. Due to
this organization's unique mission, GVMP relies heavily on a motivated and dedicated workforce. We
strive to deliver quality care by placing importance on maintaining a diverse team of
multi-disciplinary professionals.

The Aberdeen Proving Ground VTF is located on Aberdeen Proving Ground in MD. The clinic operates Monday (0900 -1400) and Tuesday and Wednesday (0800 - 1600), unless otherwise posted.
This is a FLEX/Intermittent position.
Flexible employees serve in a continuing position on a scheduled or as-needed basis. No weekend, U.S. Federal Holiday, shift work or travel will be required.
Salary is pro-rated based on a 40 hour work week. Hourly pay is $11.42 - $12.07.
Duties
Provide full client services for an animal clinic including but not limited to:
- Receive telephone calls and visitors to determine nature of call or visit, obtains identifying information, and verifies treatment eligibility.
- Schedule appointments, prepare and update medical files, and screen records.
- Dispense medication, annotate and refill prescriptions in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide standard client education regarding internal and external parasite control, pre and post-operative care, treatment instructions, etc. Review discharge information or handouts with client.
- Receive payments for services rendered. Balance cash and checks daily; make daily deposits.
- Monitor and replenish inventory.
- Maintain reception and exam rooms to ensure cleanliness and spot clean if necessary.
- Serve as a reference point, providing expertise to developing employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
