About the Position:The U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) is a major element of RDECOM and partner in the TACOM Life Cycle Management Command. As a full life-cycle engineering support provider-of-first-choice for all DOD ground combat and combat support weapons and vehicle systems, TARDEC develops and integrates the right technology solutions to improve Current Force effectiveness and provide superior capabilities for the Future Force. Duties
You will serve as the administrative technician within a TARDEC Business Group or designated group responsible for planning, coordinating, and performing a variety of administrative services. You will provide administrative and secretarial support to the immediate office by carrying out and coordinating all the administrative support activities required to accomplish the work of the organization. Work assignments cover a wide spectrum of duties, including developing internal administrative processes and procedures. Maintain close working relationships with Associate Director/Deputy Associate Director, team leaders, and team members to facilitate administrative actions and assure adequate responses to various administrative requirements. Perform various secretarial functions for the AD/DAD. You may be required to substitute for the Executive Assistant in the office of the business group Executive Director. May also be required to lead subordinate administrative staff.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: developing internal administrative procedures for use by an organization; monitoring training requirements; alert supervisor and personnel of approaching deadlines; screening visitors to determine the nature of the visit and direct visitors to appropriate staff; creating presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint (or similar software).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:
At least four years of education above high school. This education must be obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. OR
a combination of creditable specialized experience as described in A, and some creditable education as described in B. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. The total should be at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your total semester hours of education by 120. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) (Transcripts required)
Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.
