The position is located in the Human Resources Division (HRD) of the Office of the Executive Director and reports to the Employee Acquisition and Operations Branch Chief. As a member of the STARS program, you will gain first- hand experience in the federal government by providing clerical and administrative support to the HRD and other offices throughout FERC. STARS at FERC:
• Provide administrative support to program offices,
• Complete special projects for the Human Resources Division,
• Complete special projects for other offices throughout FERC,
• Polish their communication and professional skills in a real world setting
At time of appointment, applicant must submit proof of Fall 2017 enrollment.
These positions are temporary, they may be converted to a full time, career-conditional position. Any conversions to full time or career-conditional status is neither implied nor guaranteed.

Duties
The CHCO Student Trainee will work collaboratively with team members from the Employee Acquisition and Operations Branch, Workforce Relations Division, Employee Development Branch, Benefits and Payroll Branch and Security and Safety Division. The CHCO Student Trainee (Administrative and Office Support) will be responsible for the following duties at FERC:
- Provide administrative support that includes filing and maintaining personnel documents
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Complete special projects which include assisting in the implementation of FERC’s summer internship program
- Research and collect data for various HR initiatives
- Work proactively with team members
