Duties

The successful candidates will analyze climate change data, earth observation data, telemetry data, demographic information, and breeding data to explore the impact of climate change and/or weather conditions on shorebird reproduction, demography, and distribution. The successful candidate will also participate in field work in the summer season.

EDUCATION

Enrolled in a doctoral degree program at Carleton University, with an acceptable specialization in either biology or some other science program relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Significant experience* in the analysis and interpretation of scientific data.

Significant experience* collecting wildlife data in the field.

Significant experience* attaching wildlife tracking devices to birds.

Significant experience* working in remote arctic field camps.

Significant experience* working in avian research sites.

Significant experience* banding migratory birds

Experience safely working in areas with risk of Polar Bear interactions.

*Where significant experience is defined as a minimum of at least two years. This experience can be from a master's degree, undergraduate degree, work experience outside of academia, or a combination of any of the above.
