Summary
This position is located in the Production Trades Division, Industrial Execution Department at FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Selectee performs a variety of routine and repetitive duties on equipment of limited complexity such as subassemblies, printed circuit cards, and chassis to complete electronics systems.

Responsibilities
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
-Disassemble and assemble electronics equipment
-Install, test, modify, overhaul, and repair electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies
-Assist in troubleshooting to component level
Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. www.sss.gov
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period.

Requirements:

-Active duty military members MAY apply under this announcement. If selected, appointment eligibility requirements must be met prior to the effective date of appointment.
-Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
-Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final (e.g., confidential/secret/top secret, etc.) security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
-Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. Incumbents of drug testing designated positions will be subject to random testing. Drug test results will be provided to the employing activity/command.
-Selectee will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
-Work requires lifting and moving heavy items.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Installing, maintaining, testing, repairing, or replacing electronic equipment from circuit cards and subassemblies; operating automated, or common electrical/electronic test equipment to test wiring and components, or subassemblies; working from schematics, diagrams, or technical manuals; maintaining or repairing equipment such as audio/radio frequency amplifiers, or power supplies; using common hand and power tools.
